Agreement Reached for the Export of Peruvian Blueberries to the Bolivian Market
Feb 25, 2025The 2024/2025 blueberry season was a record, but the next one could be even better
The 2024/2025 Peruvian blueberry season was a resounding success, exceeding expectations and setting new records. Favourable weather conditions, coupled with advancements in agricultural techniques and varietal replacement, contributed to a significant increase in production volume. This led to Peru becoming the largest exporter of blueberries, surpassing even leading mineral exports in value. The diversification of export markets, including increased shipments to China and Europe, helped maintain price stability despite the higher volumes. For the upcoming 2025/2026 season, projections are optimistic, with anticipated growth in both volume and value, assuming normal weather patterns persist and market diversification continues. While the United States remains the primary export destination, growth in emerging markets like China and Europe indicates a promising future for Peruvian blueberries.
