Rice Prices Today, February 24, 2025: Market Stable

The rice market in Vietnam on February 24, 2025, remained stable for both paddy rice and milled rice. Prices for various types of rice, including IR 50404, Dai Thom 8, and OM varieties, saw no significant changes. Trading volume remained low across many localities despite sufficient supply. Export rice prices also remained unchanged, with standard 100% broken rice at 310 USD/ton. In Tay Ninh province, efforts are underway to improve the value of the rice industry. The province, with a large rice cultivation area of 150 thousand hectares, faces challenges such as low farmer profits due to reliance on intermediary traders and a lack of seed rice production facilities. Local authorities are working with cooperatives and businesses to develop solutions for these issues.
