Feb 25, 2025Peru Promotes Raspberry Production for Frozen Exports and Fresh Market
Peru's Agromercado is actively promoting raspberry cultivation among small-scale farmers. Raspberries, a robust and fast-growing crop, are ideal for both the fresh market and frozen exports. While fresh raspberries will primarily target local consumers, the frozen fruit market presents significant export opportunities. Peru's existing expertise in frozen agricultural products, particularly blueberries, positions the country well to capitalize on the growing global demand for frozen raspberries. The Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation is supporting this initiative through demonstration plots in various regions, encouraging farmer participation in this emerging export market.
