Feb 25, 2025Pepper Price Today, February 25, 2025: Domestic Prices Slightly Decrease
Global pepper prices on February 25th experienced minor fluctuations. Indonesian black pepper prices in Lampung increased slightly, while Muntok white pepper prices saw a negligible decrease. Vietnamese black pepper export prices decreased for both 500 g/l and 550 g/l types. Domestic pepper prices in Vietnam decreased by 1,000 VND across various regions, trading between 160,000 - 162,000 VND/kg. The drought in 2024 and unstable weather significantly impacted the pepper harvest in Dong Nai, reducing yields by 20-40%. Despite this, farmers expect higher profits due to the current price. The pepper harvest season has commenced in Dong Nai, but trading is slow. Dong Nai's pepper cultivation area has shrunk due to low prices and export difficulties following the COVID-19 pandemic, forcing farmers to seek more sustainable agricultural practices.
